Stepping Into Spring With intu Eldon Square

Spring has arrived. The clocks have gone forward and I’ve set aside my burgundy and grey nail polishes so it’s definitely here.

Last week I was luck enough to attend the opening night of the intu Eldon Square Spring Fashion event where a bunch of bloggers gathered to take a look around their new Walk-In Wardrobe, showcasing all the latest trends for Spring 2017.

Now don’t get me wrong, I turn up to work in clothes from about 5 seasons ago and live in my black jeans, but that doesn’t mean I don’t love hopping on a new trend bandwagon and exploring new statement pieces and looks. The Walk-In wardrobe was bursting with the most gorgeous clothes and heightened any pre-existing spending temptation I had before I arrived. During that transition period where all the high street shops turn around their stock from the previous season, I personally struggle on what to go for when it comes to new outfits. I need a mannequin or a good sponsored Instagram post for something to scream “Buy me!” and never really know how to piece new items together or integrate them into my current wardrobe. The Walk-In wardrobe was a brilliant way to learn about this season’s trends and I can honestly say that of everything on display, about 80% of it screamed out to me as something I’d be interested in buying. There were pieces from Monsoon, River Island, John Lewis, Miss Selfridge – even Garage Shoes got us talking. It was inspiring to see pieces I’d never have noticed before and the displays really opened my eyes to brands I’d previously written off as “not me”.

Each display of the Walk-In Wardrobe focuses on a specific trend. The four key trends for this Spring have been identified as Floral (a Spring must), Pinks (primarily blush!), 80s (Those frills and shoulder pads…) and my personal favourite, Ath-leisure (also known as Sports Luxe!). We were talked through each trend and some tips and tricks for what best suits different shapes and sizes by the incredible Emma. Emma is a trained Image Consultant, come Stylist and Blogger. She gave us the complete run down, from what size floral pattern suits your shape and which shade of pink best suits your skin tone. It was both inspiring and insightful to listen to and I even got some personal advice where I felt I needed it for my own wardrobe. As a fashion lover and someone who believes the right clothes can give you all the confidence in the World, it was amazing to hear and I came away with so much more confidence in my own style and future style choices.

We were also treated to a little master class by the Bobbi Brown team at John Lewis. I was lucky enough to model for them and get fully made over which was quite the treat! I’ve not tried many of their products so it was great to learn a bit more about them and get to know their range a little better. Since that night I’ve had my eye on their Skin Foundation Stick. It applied like a dream and was just so damn beautiful. Make up will forever win me over.

The Spring Walk-In Wardrobe is everything you need to become a savvy shopper this Spring. It will be outside Debenhams until the 1st April and there will be events from now until then helping you with everything what to wear to a special occasion to what swimwear will best suit you. The pieces will be rotating in the next day or two so you can even visit twice to get maximum inspiration. Emma will be there to help at the events and I’m most excited for Saturday 1st April, where she’ll be running you through each trend and how it could work for you. I, for one, will be there! Trust me, she’s a genius.

You’ll notice a few repeat events in there so if you can’t make one there’s a chance you’ll make another so have a browse. intu Eldon Square are amazing at treating customers to bits like this and I am so grateful for the insight and advice we got at their opening event. It’s even better that you can head down and get the exact same treatment. Don’t forget to visit the (kind of) new Food Court in Eldon Square too. We were treated to some grub from Red’s True BBQ at the event and it really is the stuff of dreams.

Thank you intu Eldon Square for having me!
