Urban Decay Masterclass – An ELLEfluence Event

Urban Decay Masterclass – An ELLEfluence Event

I popped into my local Urban Decay a while back (as I’d run out of the all time fave Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Eden) and noticed a flyer for a masterclass they were holding in November. The lovely Kelly at Urban Decay completely sold the event to me and I gave the lovely Laura at whatlittlepealoves.com a text and along with Laura’s BFF Rachel we bought tickets and decided it was worth a trip! Little did we know that this was actually an event primarily for bloggers hosted with ELLEfluence, a new platform, launching early 2017 to connect bloggers and influencers with brands. This really exited Laura and I – both being bloggers, and of course excited the very make up obsessed Rachel!

We arrived to the event, held at Debenhams in Eldon Square, to the amazing and fabulous Laura of Laura Pearman photography who took photos on our arrival and made us feel super sassy before we had even sat down to watch the make up magic. There were some choccies and drinks (both alcoholic and none alcoholic) and we instantly felt pampered and certainly well looked after.

The event soon begun and the absolutely fabulous team at Urban Decay Newcastle introduced themselves showing us all their amazing products and even passing them around for us all to have a swatch of or a feel of in the case of the brushes! I was particularly impressed by their Full Sprectrum palette as well as their Naked Skin Colour Correcting Fluids, although I am still pretty scared to try those as I will probably end up green…

Their new Urban Decay Pro brush collection is amazing. We learnt that they were made of recycled plastic bottles which is pretty cool and I cannot deny that they were the softest brushes I have ever felt. I definitely need to try some of those at some point!

Whilst we were shown how to turn a day make up look into an evening glam one, we were also able to try glorious food by Rub Smokehouse & Bar which was absolutely delicious. The pulled pork bun slider was my particular fave and I’ve since visited the restaurant and had the full size version. It did not disappoint.

At the end of the event we had the opportunity to chat with other bloggers and I hate to admit that I spoke to barely anyone – mainly due to nerves and not really knowing much about the North East blogger scene yet! However I did have a chat with Laura (Laura Pearman) about how Laura at Elle Blonde had come up with ELLEfluence and what it hopes to achieve for the blogging community in the North East.

I started blogging at stephsinsidevoice.com three years ago whilst living in Leeds and managed to ease myself into the community down there relatively easily, however starting blogging in Newcastle felt like a whole different kettle of fish and I’m so happy to have now discovered ELLEfluence. I am thrilled that Laura (Elle Blonde Laura – to avoid confusion) has come up with such a fabulous idea to connect bloggers and brands and I’m already excited for the upcoming events – so keep your eyes peeled for posts on those.

Have you tried any Urban Decay products? Or have you ever been to Rub?! Do you get confused between all the Lauras you know?! Haha!

If you’re reading this as a blogger – please comment with your links as reading blogs is one of my favourite things to do and I’d love to chat with you!
